How dental plans work
Most plans follow a 100/80/50 pattern: preventive care (cleanings, exams, X-rays) covered at or near 100%, basic procedures like fillings around 80%, and major work — crowns, root canals, dentures — around 50%. Orthodontics is available on select plans.
Dental plans are relatively inexpensive, and clients buy them often — usually together with an ACA or Medicare plan, so the whole package is designed at once. Note that many plans have waiting periods for major services, which is another reason to set it up before the tooth starts hurting.

Isn't dental included in my health insurance?
For adults — no. In the U.S. dental is a separate policy. Pediatric dental is sometimes embedded in ACA plans, but adult coverage requires its own plan.

Can I keep my dentist?
